If you're sending sensitive data like sending tax documents, talking to journalists, and other stuff like location data and organizing a protest, you need some sort of encryption to make sure no one in the middle intercepts communications.

Google doesn't care about encryption, tis a shame but not surprised. Glad I moved to ProtonMail as my primary email client [www.wired.com]
