I feel the websites and publishers really have beaten themselves when it comes to that. Sometimes it's out of their hands and the actual customers aren't the readers obviously.

Which is why I always try to insert something like Disconnect or VPNs to spoof tracking and targeting. But you're right, I feel the web is on a crossroads that may not be fixed…

Some websites just dare to insert inescapable video ads when reading an article. That causes readers to not read it. Really.

I do know some sites have galleries that does load long so I agree there.
