I'm not a Bernie fan by any stretch, but I would love to see Dem candidates adopt either this plan or something similar to this. It's time people build their own networks and/or create municipal broadband. Break up these ISP monopolies too. [cnbc.com]
This is total 'Yikes!" stuff on Away's toxic culture and a lesson to NOT use a company-wide Slack [theverge.com]
Should have used Signal.
@matigo Yep, I don't think this will completely eliminate robocalls. More needs to be done since this is just a band aid law.
Congress passes a band-aid anti robocall law [theregister.co.uk]
Better than no law at all since the FCC doesn't want to take action.
@matigo I only trust two (ProtonVPN and Mullivad) in terms of consumer VPNs. All others are shady as hell to me.
If I have to choose between a VPN or a untrustworthy US ISP, I choose the VPN every time (unless that ISP is Sonic).
If you use PIA VPN, you should stop using it right now. [news.ycombinator.com]
Got acquired by a malware company out of Israel. Even their response isn't good enough. [news.ycombinator.com]
@matigo Fear based tech in other words. If people want to buy a home camera, buy one that is completely offline and wired with a NVR. Internet-connected ones especially when the consumer has no control over it (like Ring and Arlo has), always spell trouble.
