@phoneboy Yep, and they made a deal to acquire a controlling stake of BAMTech (formerly known as MLB Advanced Media) to make that happen.

There's no surprise that both Netflix and Amazon are focusing on shows that they can own outright so it was bound to happen. The dominoes will start falling now….

Disney will end their Netflix deal in 2019 so they can launch their own streaming service [cnbc.com]
BOOM! Also, ESPN will launch their own next year.
